China warns of USA protectionism after Huawei setback

China warns of USA protectionism after Huawei setback

But Dr Edward Tse, founder and chief executive of the Gao Feng Advisory Company, argued that most investment from China is not by state-owned enterprises, but from entrepreneurial private sector companies, led by shareholders.

Then along comes the Huawei Mate 10, a smartphone that's very almost as much of a flagship as any of those phones. It is now the third biggest player in the market, and some analysts say that it can even dislodge Apple from the No. 2 position as it steps up its overseas expansion drive.

The reason behind the deal was to help Huawei gain a foothold in the USA, while the agreement's cancelation sets the company back a bit.

There is little question that Chinese deals often attract especially close scrutiny in the US.

The smartphone industry expects that the two companies will have a duel with their honors and reputations at stake in earnest with this ruling as a beginning. Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei's consumer products division, addressed the void agreement at his CES keynote speech, in which he presented the Mate10 Pro for the USA market.

Julian Assange bags Ecuador citizenship
She did not give details on how granting Assange citizenship might help him leave the embassy and avoid arrest. Security staff were filing minute by minute reports of Assange's movements to Ecuador's intelligence agency.

In the meantime, the court rejected other claims made by Huawei.

"The U.S. market presents unique challenges for Huawei, and while the HUAWEI Mate 10 Pro will not be sold by U.S. carriers, we remain committed to this market now and in the future", it said. "The canceled deal is a big loss for us, and also for carriers, but the more big loss is for consumers, because consumers don't have the best choice". The Commerce Department is also said to be investigating Huawei's dealings with sanctioned nations. He was able to show that the Chinese company is confident about the quality of its products, and its ability to compete with global rivals.

This is not the first time USA politicians have stooped to mudslinging to prevent the entry of Chinese high-tech companies into the United States market on the pretext they pose national security threats.

AT&T's cancellation comes weeks after the US Senate and House intelligence committees reportedly sent letters to the Federal Communications Commission arguing that Huawei was a security threat.

No further explanation was given by Huawei regarding the role, but media outlets like CNET suggested that Gadot was basically appointed as the firm's brand ambassador for the United States market.
