Snow to hit NE Ohio during the Super Bowl

Icy, frosty & freezing

While not much accumulation is expected today, there is a possibility of 1 to 2 inches tonight and that same amount Wednesday. On Wednesday, a system from the southern states will approach.

TYPE: All snow for most of the area.

Wind chills will make it feel below zero for the morning commute. High near 36. Light and variable wind.

Precipitation chances will diminish Wednesday as the system moves east.

The snow coming in for the middle of this week is a widespread snowfall, not localized lake effect snow.

Monday should be a high near 18 degrees with wind chill values reaching as low as minus 13 degrees, according to the weather service. It should remain as mostly all snow in those parts, although a wintry mix in some northern spots can not be ruled out. Snow will be less intense in the Champlain Valley and Saint Lawrence River Valley, with a bit of warmer air in place a few spotty rain showers or wintry mix isn't out of the question. South wind around 8 miles per hour. Southeast wind 5 to 10 miles per hour. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent.

Wednesday Night A chance of rain before 8pm, then a chance of snow between 8pm and 1am. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.

Thursday, the high will be near 47 with mostly sunny skies and a south southwest wind of 8 to 13 miles per hour, gusting as high as 24 miles per hour, the weather service said. West wind 7 to 9 miles per hour. Monday night, a chance of snow showers after 8 p.m.

Sunday night, the low will be around 17 with mostly cloudy skies, according to the weather service.

By 8 a.m. Wednesday, the large-scale storm will affect a broad swath of the eastern United States from ME to Texas.

SATURDAY: Rain Likely. High: 40s. Cloudy, with a low around 29. Tuesday and Wednesday brings our next best shot at snow chances.
