Bush: There's 'Pretty Clear Evidence' Of Russian Meddling

George W. Bush

President George W Bush returned to Abu Dhabi nearly exactly ten years since his first visit with praise for the UAE's leadership, a sideways swipe at Donald Trump and an outright attack on the conduct of Russian President Vladimir Putin. "Whether they affected the outcome is another question." Mr. Trump said in November he's "with our agencies" on their assessment, but added he believes Russian President Vladimir Putin "feels that he and Russia did not meddle in the election". "He said he absolutely did not meddle in our election".

Bush also criticized Trump's decision to scrap a program implemented by former President Barack Obama's administration that allows young immigrants living in the USA illegally who were brought here as children to remain in America. Special counsel Robert Mueller has not yet announced whether he has evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian Federation. "The reason he does is because of the demise of the Soviet Union troubles him". Therefore, many of his movements (are) to regain Soviet hegemony.

Bush, who was critical of President Trump's approach to DACA, said "America's their home", referring to the program's recipients.

And with allegations still swirling about President Trump's election campaign and Russian involvement, he added: "I would say he's [Putin] not a direct threat to the homeland except for the elections".

Bush also said that the United States needs to reform its immigration law.

"Americans don't want to pick cotton at 105 degrees, but there are people who want to put food on their family's tables and are willing to do that", he said, according to The Associated Press.

"He can't think, 'How can we both win?' He only thinks, 'How do I win, you lose?'" Bush said.

Beyond that, he said at the summit hosted by the Milken Institute, a California-based economic think tank, that Americans should be thanking the illegal immigrants for doing jobs they refuse to do.
