Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Palestine via Jordan this weekend will be etched in history as India will now officially de-hyphenate its relationship with Palestine and Israel in more ways than one.

"We believe in the importance of a possible Indian role... to reach a final agreement based on worldwide consensus and resolutions, in which India and other countries can be part of", President Abbas said.

Prime Minister Modi will meet President Abbas on February 10 in Ramallah.

This is Modi's first visit to Jordan and also the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister in 30 years.

Before taking off from New Delhi, Modi said he was "looking forward to my discussions with President Abbas and reaffirming our support for the Palestinian people and the development of Palestine". The Palestinian Presidency, in a pre-arrival welcome statement, has described the upcoming visit as "historic and significant".

Prime Minister Modi stated that it was time for the country to know that the Congress party was hundred percent behind the scam.
