You Can Now Stream Live News from Apple's TV App

Apple News Winter Olympics 2018

Apple today has further expanded its TV application on iOS and tvOS. The Sports section, released in December, was more extensive, however, the News section gives users the option to access live streaming news content from a range of networks including CBS News, Fox News, CNBC, and Bloomberg.

Apple has teamed up with NBC to create a featured section for the 2018 Winter Olympics in its News app. iOS users will be able to get up-to-the-minute coverage on all the happenings in Pyeongchang as the action unfolds.

Both the News and the Sports sections were showcased alongside the unveiling of the Apple TV 4K and the two sections work to support each other. Unless you've already downloaded a given network's app, tapping on any of the channels requires you to download the app, after which live news video will quickly begin playing. For instance, simply say "Play CNN" to immediately jump to the live feed in the CNN application.
