Catastrophe actor Rob Delaney's son, 2, dies after cancer battle

On his Facebook page, the "Catastrophe" star penned a lengthy post about his son, Henry, and said that he was diagnosed with the illness in 2016, shortly after his first birthday. After surgery to remove the tumor and treatment early past year, the cancer returned in the fall, and Henry died in January.

"I am astonished by the love-in-action displayed by Henry's mom and his brothers".

"Henry was a joy", the actor wrote.

Delaney, who lives in London, wrote: He was smart, funny, and mischievous and we has so many wonderful adventures together.

"His drive to live and to love and to connect was profound", Delaney said.

Delaney asked that donations be directed to Rainbow Trust or Noah's Ark, two organizations that provide support to families with sick children.

Rob, who is from MA but now lives in London, thanked the NHS nurses and doctors, as well as the charity workers and home care people that helped them during the hard illness, saying they "will be my heroes until the day I die". He also said his wife and children's "love-in-action" was helping to keep him stable in a tremendously hard time. Rob says that he would "go mad with grief" if it weren't for the love of his wife and sons.

He ended his moving tribute with a message to his son writing:.

He added a message to his departed son: "Thank you, handsome Henry, for spending as much time with us as you did. We miss you to such an extent".
