Red Gerard on winning gold medal: 'I'm feeling absolutely insane right now'

The golden poke. p Mark Clavin
At just 17 years old, Gerard becomes the youngest USA snowboarder ever to win an Olympic medal, and the youngest snowboarding gold medalist of any nation since the sport was adding to the Olympic program 20 years ago.
Red Gerard, one of the youngest members of Team USA, secured the country's first gold medal in the 2018 Winter Olympics - and couldn't quite believe what he had done.
"I still feel like a little girl - privileged and honored to be here".
It was culmination of a career that began when he was 2 years old.
He turned to hug his family members, including his brothers who had introduced him to the sport at the age of two, as the crowd went wild with excitement. And after a qualifying run that yielded this hilarious CBC commentary, McMorris reached the podium Sunday alongside countryman Max Parrot, who captured silver to give Canada its first two medals of the PyeongChang games. He even won gold at a World Cup Big Air event in China in November.
The top of the Olympic course is also tight. "There are so many rails, it looks like a jungle". Instead, he mixed and matched with a variety of lobs and turns over rails and jibs with some cool grabs to match. I think the judges liked that. Gerard's best X Games finish was fourth.
"It's definitely insane having a group of 17 people at the bottom of the slope run and knowing that they're there". Then, finally, a triple cork 1440, showing that he had the trick that's a calling card of the heavy hitters to come.
Dow drops by more than 1000 points twice in week
He has denied the accusations but said he could not be effective in his corporate positions in the face of those allegations. The Dow moved almost 500 points during trading on Wednesday before closing down 19 points, or 0.08 per cent, at 24,893.
He didn't, and the scene at the bottom was wacky in a way that only the Olympics can dream up.
In snowboarding, Parrot, from Bromont, Que., earned 87.36 points in his second run to take top spot in the second heat.
If there was an Olympic medal for sticking it to the weather (and there should be), they would all win.
From here, he will travel back to the West Coast for the post-victory TV appearances and sponsor shoots.
Dutchman Sven Kramer roared to a third straight Olympic title in the men's 5,000m speed skating, while Germany's Arnd Peiffer upstaged Martin Fourcade, France's most decorated winter Olympian with four medals, to grab a surprise win in the men's 10km sprint biathlon.
So who is this guy? "It was awesome", he said about the Canadian favorites whom he beat. But you know, we got three days of practice and we have time to figure it out. "He'll snowboard until he can't snowboard".

What is mixed doubles curling?
Morris won Olympic gold in 2010 playing third for Kevin Martin, while Lawes topped the podium in 2014 as vice for Jennifer Jones. They're now ranked No. 1 in the world. "So fix that and we are going to be a force".
