Galaxy S9 Galaxy S9+ Get Low Repairability Score in iFixit Teardown

Rumors that both Samsung and Apple plan to introduce this type of fingerprint scanner in one of their flagship phones have been around for years, but none of them have come to fruition.

"According to our understanding of the technologies, under-display fingerprint solutions may now have many technical issues (e.g. screen protectors and different environments affecting recognition rates and power-consumption)", report quotes Kuo from one of the notes to investors. However, the analyst says in his latest note to investors that the Korean company is likely to drop the technology from the Note 9. The reliable analyst is now saying that won't be happening after all, as Samsung is now "likely" to skip the in-display fingerprint sensor again, due to "technological difficulties" with screen protectors and certain environments causing problems with the success rate of the reader.

The 3.5mm headphone jack still being around on the Galaxy S9 really surprised me, but in a good way. What could change, however is the RAM on board. Interestingly, the site reveals that the Galaxy Note 8 is scheduled to receive the next major operating system and the firmware is now in testing phase. Samsung, however, has a slightly different approach because their displays have ever so slightly curves over the left and right edges of the phones. According to Samsung's mobile chief DJ Koh, however, it's on the way. Samsung is said to have already tested ultrasonic and optical solutions, but neither have met the company's standards.

As far as screen size goes, the Note 9 may well match the 6.3 inches of the Note 8, just a shade bigger than the S9 Plus. Samsung has said its goal is to make Bixby "ubiquitous". That would mean the whole of the front of the Note 9, more or less, would be given over to the screen.

Starting at now, Samsung Turkey has uncovered arranged dispatch dates of Android Oreo to Galaxy Note 8 and some other premium models already launched.

The Note 9 could bring an even better S Pen.

Plus, the Galaxy S9 doesn't have a "notch" at the top of the screen for its camera and facial recognition sensors, a design choice for which some tech pundits and fans criticized Apple.

The Note 8 has a great camera, but the Note 9's could blow it away.

One of the Microsoft apps that aren't installed on Microsoft's Galaxy S9 is the Microsoft Launcher, the company says, but you can get that one from the Play store.
