Markle, who got engaged to Prince Harry in November, intends to become a British citizen following their royal wedding on May 19. Markle joined her husband-to-be and Britain's other senior royals including Harry's father, Prince Charles, and his elder brother Prince William and his wife Catherine at London'sWestminster Abbey for the Commonwealth service on Monday.

In her Commonwealth Day message, which featured in the service, the Queen has praised the "Commonwealth connection" that allows people from different nations to bond and celebrate "diversity".
