Iran Nuclear Deal: US Reimposing Sanctions Threatens War In Middle East

Trump on Tuesday withdrew the United States from a six-nation agreement with Tehran
As Iranians take to the streets to protest President Donald Trump-who ditched the Iran nuclear deal this week despite warnings that it could lead to "a potentially catastrophic military confrontation"-in a speech on Friday, Europe's top diplomat vowed to work with the worldwide community to save the agreement and railed against Trump's style of politics". The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has constantly maintained that Iran is sticking to the terms of the agreement and is not cheating, a fact independently verified by the US military as well.
He ordered Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif to negotiate with the countries still in the deal to try to save it, and Friday's statement reiterated that Zarif was seeking "required guarantees" from the five other parties to the agreement. However, proponents of the deal have said those time limits were meant to encourage more discussion with Iran in the future.
Trump on May 8 announced his intention to withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal, calling the multilateral pact "defective at its core" and unable to fully prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.
German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said of EU-US relations: "We are prepared to talk... but also to fight for our positions where necessary".
"I'm hopeful in the days and weeks ahead we can come up with a deal that really works, that really protects the world from Iranian bad behavior, not just their nuclear program, but their missiles and their malign behavior as well".
Mr. Bolton, a National Security Council spokesman said, consulted widely with his colleagues and European allies on Iran.
At the same time, the government said it has tasked the president of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran with "taking all necessary steps in preparation for Iran to pursue industrial-scale enrichment without any restrictions".
"Do we want to be vassals who obey decisions taken by the United States while clinging to the hem of their pants?"
"There is a realization among all European states what we can not keep going in the direction we are headed today whereby we submit to American decisions", said French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire.
"Together, we emphasise our continuing commitment to the JCPOA".
But 54 percent of respondents said they feared a direct military confrontation with Iran was looming and agreed with officials who said that it would be better "to have the fight now and not at a later stage", the paper said.
"They agreed on the need for calm on all sides and on the importance of tackling Iran's destabilizing activity in the region", the spokeswoman said.
"This impulse to destroy is not leading us anywhere good".
