All users to be moved to new Gmail

Here is everything that's new in Gmail - plus when and how you can try it.

That likely means the new Gmail schedule for "regular" users is similar.

Google has already launched the new Gmail through its Early Adopter Program (EAP), and will make it available to everyone by next month. Once those four weeks are up, G Suite users will no longer have the ability to switch back and forth between the new and old designs.

The new Gmail launches to general availability from July.

Google has announced that the new Gmail layout - which was introduced back in April, and is now available as part of an Early Adopter Program - will be available to all users starting next month.

Video: New Gmail design is here. If you change your mind, select "Go back to classic Gmail" in Settings. It plans to have everyone using the new design within a few months. However, the redesign will be pushed onto everyone eventually, and around eight weeks after being made available to all users, Google says anyone who hasn't transitioned will automatically be moved to the new design. For a period of time, users will still have the option to opt out (see below for more details). Ultimately, around the 12-week mark after the general availability announcement, Gmail users will lose the option to revert to the old design.

Like I said, it's not clear if this will be the same schedule for Gmail users who are not in the G Suite, but it's likely that Google will push all Gmail users to the redesign around the same time. "They'll have the option to opt out of the new Gmail for an additional four weeks".
