Lenovo's 'all-screen' smartphone is a lie

Lenovo Z5 Announced, Features A Display Notch After All

For a few weeks now, Lenovo teased the imminent arrival of an all-screen phone, a device that would have no notch like the iPhone X and all its clones. The device is also expected to be launched in India and will compete with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro and the Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1. However, as per a report by GSMArena, the new image, which was again spotted on Weibo, seems to suggest that the chin isn't as thin as it initially looked, This is because the chin on the phone not only houses the front camera module but also the other sensors which would otherwise be on the smartphone's forehead.

The Lenovo Z5 was just announced in China. Other highlights of the phone include Snapdragon 636 SoC, a vertical dual rear camera setup with AI capabilities etc.

The Lenovo Z5 can be pre-ordered from June 12th in Aurora Blue, Black, and Indigo Blue, with prices starting from 1299 yuan (roughly $200) in China. It is powered by 1.8GHz octa-core Snapdragon 636 Mobile Platform coupled with 6GB of RAM.

On the front is a 6.2-inch notch display with Full HD+ (2246 x 1080 pixels) resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio. Even the 95% screen-to-body ratio Lenovo revealed early on was a lie, with the real number being 90%.

The Lenovo Z5 is not a breakthrough phone that'll drag us kicking and screaming into a new age of true all-screen phones. There's ZUI 4.0 on the software front, running on Android 8.0 Oreo and Lenovo has promised an update to Android P as well.

The Taliban , fighting to restore strict Islamic rule after their 2001 ouster at the hands of US-led troops, denied involvement. The militant group regularly makes claims for violent attacks without providing proof it was involved.

The Lenovo Z5 is priced at CNY 1399 (Rs 14700 approx.) for 64GB storage variant and CNY 1799 (Rs 18,900 approx.) for the 128GB storage model.

It is powered by a 3,300mAh battery with fast charging support. We've no real beef with notches, but if you're gonna talk a big game before the official launch, you better be able to back it up. The colour options are - Black, Aurora (Inspiration - Honor 10) and Blue.

Anyways, do let us know your opinions about the Lenovo Z5 in the comments section below.

The device has a fingerprint scanner placed at the back.

Coming to the optics, the phone features a 16-megapixel primary rear camera with f/2.0 aperture along with an 8MP secondary rear camera to capture depth information in portrait shots with AI support. The latter has a dual camera setup and a tall screen with a sweet price of $155/€135 for the more powerful 4/64 GB variant.
