Bill Clinton Says He Has Not Privately Apologized To Monica Lewinsky

Former President Bill Clinton said he couldn't get elected to'anything these days because'I just don't like embarrassing people- in direct response to a question about President Donald Trump's fondness for'personal insults

Former president Bill Clinton addressed his scandal with Monica Lewinsky on Monday during a contentious interview with NBC's Craig Melvin.

He added that Obama was a "good president" and disagreed with Trump's "assessment of his service".

Watch Clinton's comments above. The two co-wrote the new thriller "The President Is Missing".

"I have never talked to her". "I wish he'd said today [what] he'[s] said many times: I apologize, publicly apologize", McAuliffe said he wished Clinton had instead stated.

"No, I do - I do not", Clinton responded.

In the run-up to this year's midterm elections, Clinton has been virtually invisible on the campaign trail because of new scrutiny of his past treatment of women, including Lewinsky.

The #MeToo movement did more than just shine a light on some particularly heinous bad men, it made space for investigating and interrogating the power imbalances that may blur the line of consent. I apologized to my family, to Monica Lewinsky and her family and to the American people before a panel of ministers in the White House, which was widely reported.

"He was my boss. He was 27 years my senior, with enough life experience to know better", she wrote. But it wasn't just this fact that made the former president uncomfortable during an interview with the Today show. Lewinsky said a leader of the #MeToo movement contacted her and apologized that she endured the 90s political sex-scandal alone. Clinton went on to say that the #MeToo movement was "way overdue", with the caveat, "it doesn't mean that I agree with everything". When pressed by Melvin, Clinton played whataboutism by pointing to sexual misconduct allegations against President Trump.

Clinton publicly acknowledged at the National Prayer Breakfast in 1998 that he had "sinned".

And his answer on Monday, said one top Democrat, who requested anonymity to speak candidly, showed why having him stump for a candidate is far too risky.

He added, "Nobody believes that I got out of that for free". After at first denying the relationship, Clinton subsequently admitted it.

Bill Clinton. Here is the truth of it: a human life was altered & destroyed due to your selfishness. "Because. You. Could. You not only wiped your semen on a young girl's dress, you left a stain on society", McGowan tweeted.

Melvin: Did you ever apologize to her?

But Clinton, who has been accused of sexual assault and harassment on multiple occasions by numerous women since he was first elected governor of Arkansas in 1978, faces an increasingly negative spotlight in the #MeToo era.
