Almost 100 firefighters called to huge blaze at five-star hotel in Knightsbridge
The area is now closed between Scotch Corner and Hyde Park Corner because of the fire, while London Fire Brigade tweeted that 120 firefighters were battling the blaze at the 12-floor hotel.
The hotel has just finished the most extensive and costly refurbishment in its 115-year history, with rooms only re-opening to the public on May 29.
LondonFire Brigade said 15 fire engines and 97 fire fighters had been sent to tackle the blaze.
Almost 100 firefighters are battling a "massive blaze" at five-star Mandarin Oriental hotel in upmarket Knightsbridge, London, according to the Mirror.
No casualties have been reported at time of writing.
The hotel group said it believed that all guests had been evacuated.
Images on Twitter show large plumes of black smoke filling the London skyline, with many taking to the social media site to share their own shocking images of the nightmare blaze.
