In San Miguel Los Lotes, eight to ten feet of volcanic ash buried homes and people.

Thousands of people have been evacuated in Guatemala since Sunday, when Fuego's largest eruption in four decades shot hot gas and smoke 6.2 miles into the sky, according to CONRED, the country's natural disaster agency.

Over 3,000 people have been forced to flee their homes in the region south-west of the capital, Guatemala City where the local Caritas organization has set up three camps for the displaced, and organized a collection for the 10 June, during which medicine, clothes and food will be accepted and distributed.

The volcano first erupted on Sunday, and is its worst eruption in more than one hundred years.

National disaster agency CONRED said 192 people remained missing after the disaster, and forensic agency Inacif raised the death toll to at least 75, up from 72.
