Monaco playmaker Thomas Lemar is on the brink of signing for La Liga giants Atletico Madrid in a big money move after the Spanish club announced a deal had been agreed.
It is understood that representatives of Monaco and Atletico met on Tuesday evening to discuss the transfer, with Lemar now involved with the French national team at the World Cup in Russian Federation, as reported by French news outlet L'Equipe.
Both clubs announced a "preliminary agreement" on a transfer, with Atletico saying the clubs will work together to complete the details.
But after having previously stated that he would announce his decision before France's opening World Cup game on Saturday, Griezmann chose to keep shtum.
Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann has revealed his future will be decided in the next week as speculation mounts over a move to Barcelona.
The Gunners came close to signing Lemar for around £80m last summer on deadline day before the deal fell through.
He says it is similar to when Manchester United had agreed to sign the 27-year-old last summer, before he then made a decision to remain at Atletico.
France play their opening game of the tournament on Saturday against Australia.
Catalunya Radio reported that Barca remain confident of signing Griezmann as coach Ernesto Valverde was reassured by the club's hierarchy over a meal last week that the forward would be part of his squad next season.
"Well No 1, he's made a decision", Balague told Sky Sports News.
After scoring nine times in Ligue 1 as Monaco won the title a year ago, he scored three goals and added 10 assists in all competitions this past season.

Apple Bans Apps That Mine Cryptocurrencies
This hints that the decision to ban mining apps from the App Store could have been taken to preserve battery performance. No apps may mine crypto, unless they process that mining off the device, like in cloud-based mining.
