In what might be one of the shrewdest business decisions we've ever seen Fortnite's developers Epic Games announced a year ago that it would be launching a free-to-play version of the game called Battle Royale.
A nine-year-old girl was reportedly placed in a rehab due to her addiction to an online video game, Fortnite. "To play Fortnite on Switch, please create a new account".
It was also announced that Fortnite on Switch would not be the Mobile version of the game, and will use Nintendo Switch servers too.
For those who want to be first to download the new game, you'll need to log into the Switch store at the time mentioned above.
Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aime said the game would incorporate its battle royale mode and would be available at 1 p.m. EST today as a free download. In April, it became the biggest free-to-play console game, a number that's only going to increase with today's addition of the Switch to the ranks. According to this leak, it will be available on June 12, 2018, the same day as the E3 2018 Nintendo Direct.
In the United States, the Fortnite addiction is equally as bad with many parents trying to figure out how to keep their kids away from the battle royale.
