Chestnut, who brought home his third straight Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest win on Wednesday, was initially scored with having eaten 64 hot dogs and buns on a scorching day on Coney Island.
Chestnut, described on ESPN has having the "the esophagus of a champion" and the "the stomach of a warlord" scoffed down 74 hot dogs and buns in just 10 minutes. Eating's elite gather each year to see how many hot dogs they can stomach in 10 minutes.
"Oh, my God, I got in a vicious rhythm", said Chestnut, per Larry McShane and Mikey Light of the New York Daily News. "I was feeling good today".
She also said she dips the hot dog bun in hot tea before eating it so she can eat it as fast as possible.
Sudo, 32, fell short of the 41 hot dogs she consumed past year. The only difference about this win is that Joey beat his 72-dog record from past year. It will also be interesting to see if Chestnut can break the record he set previous year when he ate an astounding 72 hot dogs - buns included - in just 10 minutes.
