Then-Fox News co-president Bill Shine leaves a New York restaurant last April

Ousted Fox News executive Bill Shine officially joins Trump administration as senior communications official

In addition, Shine is known to be close to Fox News personality and Trump booster and friend Sean Hannity.

Since then, the communications job has evolved into a position that reports directly to the president, overseeing both the press and communications teams.

Former Fox News executive Bill Shine's White House appointment by President Trump has drawn ire across social media. In a statement, the administration highlighted Shine's "two decades of television programming, communications, and management experience" as the reason for the hire.

Gretchen Carlson is not happy about former Fox News co-president Bill Shine's new White House job, highlighting that the news comes around the second anniversary of her harassment lawsuit against the network.

Shine left Fox News in 2017.

Fox News later settled with Carlson and issued an apology.

For decades, the daily "message" was Ailes' job at Fox, and Shine was his dutiful lieutenant. He has denied all wrongdoing.

"Previously, Mr. Shine served as Co-President of Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network".

United States media has reported Fox News forced Shine to resign in May 2017 for his handling of the sexual harassment scandal involving Ailes. "Competent, hard working and a believer in making America great again!" he wrote on Twitter. "(Through a Fox News spokesperson, Shine denies this.) He's now a defendant in a federal lawsuit filed this week by former Fox host Andrea Tantaros".
