A service member has died in southern Afghanistan in what appears to be a green-on-blue attack, military officials announced Saturday.
NATO's training and assistance mission in Afghanistan, Resolute Support, said in a statementthat the two US service members injured in the July 7 incident were in stable condition and that an investigation was under way.
Details of the incident, which is under investigation, were not immediately released.

There are about 14,000 US military personnel in Afghanistan, majority serving as trainers and advisers with the Afghan military in their fight against the Taliban and ISIS.
