Serena Williams of the United States celebrates winning her Ladies' Singles fourth round match against Evgeniya Rodina of Russia on day seven of the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championships at All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club

"She has a very powerful game".

"Serena Williams and Drake are not engaged", the spokesperson told GossipCop.com at the time.

"I don't know what I did", Williams said in a post-game press conference. "'I'll just keep fighting", Williams said.

"No. Just to be clear, that was just today". I honestly have no idea about either.

After five consecutive first-round defeats at Wimbledon, Julia Goerges is now one win from the final, though standing in her way in the formidable Serena Williams.

But that lifted a weight off her shoulders at the All England Club, where she has become the first Latvian to make a Wimbledon semi-final.

The other semifinal is No. 11 seed Angelique Kerber of Germany vs.

(12) J Ostapenko d.

But the 36-year-old shared over the weekend that despite a strict schedule to be as present as possible for her daughter, she still managed to miss out on baby Alexis's first steps while getting in some training for Wimbledon. Ostapenko won last year's French Open. Ostapenko started slowly in her 7-5, 6-4 win over Cibulkova, while Kerber suffered four breaks against Kasatkina-three of which came in succession at the close of the second set.

The absence of the top 10 seeds leaves the tournament open, but for some that is no surprise.

He said: "He loves to compete and is an awesome leader who is about winning and making sure that his teammates are successful". We won't know the answer to that for some time, but James himself seems to be getting the hang of this L.A. thing already.

(25) S Williams d.

She is unbeaten at the championships since 2014, winning the title in 2015 and 2016.

That is going to change now.

The Queen is back, with Tuesday's win guaranteeing that she will jump from 181 to at least 51 when the new rankings are announced next week. Serena Williams, 51? Eh, it doesn't have that same ring to it.

Williams is playing only her fourth tournament since becoming a mother for the first time. "It sounds pretty cool", said Goerges. I'm just thinking about my next match, which is tomorrow. Williams holds a 3-0 head-to-head record over Goerges, with the most recent victory coming in the third round of the French Open last month.

Williams hit six of her seven aces in the final set, including one clocked at 122 miles per hour, and won 44 of the last 54 points she served. It was a fearless performance that offered Williams one of her toughest tests since returning.

Giorgi was excellent off both wings in the opener and won her first set in four meetings with Williams as a brilliant backhand gave her two set points and an errant forehand followed from the American.

But Giorgi plays with nary a trace of subtlety and more than a bit of abandon, taking risky, flat chops at the ball with serves, returns, forehands and backhands. "Just the fewer the better for me!"

Serena is the first woman to reach a Grand Slam semifinal without facing a top 40 ranked opponent since 2013. The 20-time Grand Slam champion practiced side by side with Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic.

In the men's draw, Juan Martin del Potro completed a hard-fought fourth-round win over Gilles Simon 7-6 (7-1) 7-6 (7-5) 5-7 7-6 (7-5).
