Meet the new iPhones: Here’s all the smartphone news Apple announced today

Apple expected to unveil bigger, pricier iPhone

Apple aficionados in the Middle East will not have long to wait before they get their hands on what the company are calling the "most attractive and advanced" iPhones.

So, when can you get your shakingly impatient hands on Apple's latest trio of phones?

The iPhone XS is expected to be the "S" version of 2017's iPhone X, with upgraded internals and a similar design.

The iPhone XS Max is available with 64GB, 256GB, and 512GB storage and cost £1,099, £1,249, and £1,449 respectively.

These latest models also take advantage of the fastest cellular speeds available today, but on 4G networks, not on 5G. Even though its thickness got reduced and it offers more performance and features, the new watch is said to maintain the same battery life longevity as its predecessors. The iPhone X model has a larger screen than other iPhones, covering nearly the entire face of the handset while retaining the overall handset size at or near that of previous models.

Apple's brand-new iPhone XS Max - unveiled on Wednesday - is super-sized in more ways than one.

The phones will include the ability to support dual SIM cards, which means people can put two phone numbers or phone plans on the same phone.

iPhone XR is the so-called "budget" iPhone. IPhones fetched an average price of $724 during the April-June period, a almost 20 per cent increase from a year earlier.

Powering all three iPhones is Apple's own 7nm six-core A12 Bionic CPU. It can handle 5 trillion operations each second. The XS Max, which looks to be about the size of the iPhone 8 Plus but with a much bigger display, will become the most expensive iPhone ever, starting at $1,099 in the U.S. and €1,249 ($1,452) in Germany. "I'll have to sell off both", joked one user on the platform.

iPhone Xs starts at $999 for a 64-gigabyte model, the iPhone Xs Max starts at $1099. All can be pre-ordered from 19 October and will start shipping the following week.

The XR uses the LCD screens of Apple's past, and lacks the pressure-sensing 3D Touch feature that debuted on the iPhone 6S.

Unlike the flagship models, it comes in a handful of new colors including white, black, blue, coral, yellow, and (PRODUCT) RED. It also still has the Smart HDR feature for improved shadow and highlight details in images, plus the new depth control feature in the camera app.

At the launch, Tim Cook confirmed the names of the new models - which had been leaked earlier in the day - as iPhone XS, XS Max and XR, as well as revealing release dates for global regions.

The Apple Watch Series 4 with Global Positioning System starts at £399 while the version with Global Positioning System and cellular starts at £499.
