New Video Shows Harvey Weinstein Inappropriately Touching Rape Accuser

Harvey Weinstein Accuser Releases Video of Creepy Business Meeting Before Alleged Rape

New video, via Sky News, has surfaced of Harvey Weinstein behaving inappropriately with a woman during a September 2011 business meeting in the The Weinstein Company offices in New York City.

The frankly disturbing footage, shows Weinstein acting incredibly inappropriate, propositioning the woman, and caressing her.

The video shows Melissa Thompson, one of three women now suing Weinstein for sexual assault, pitching her tech startup to the movie mogul at The Weinstein Company offices in 2011. After rejecting her attempt at a handshake, he is shown greeting Thompson with a hug, during which he rubs her lower back, and throughout the video he touches her on the arms and shoulders. Thompson told Sky she was thinking of the initial encounter with Weinstein.

At one point in the extended video, Thompson turned the computer to capture the side of the room near the kitchen, after Weinstein gestured her there. A little bit, she tells him. Back in June, Thompson gave this interview to NBC News in which she mentions the video and even offered NBC a screengrab from it.

"I knew I was losing the ability to control the situation and keep it professional", she said.

"Now I see, he's trying any way he can, to move me into that zone of comfortable then uncomfortable and confused and vulnerable and recognizing that he is powerful and I'm not".

Melissa Thompson is one of the three women who filed a class-action lawsuit against Weinstein in June, accusing him of uninvited sexual conduct in various forms. She told Sky News that when she got to the hotel, Weinstein led her to his hotel room and raped her. "It's okay, would you like to do it some more?" he can be heard saying.

Thompson said Wednesday that she was trying to "save face" at first during the meeting. At one point, he appears genuinely interested in using her service, instructing her to tell her boss to sign him up. "I had entered that fight-or-flight mode and I was scared of him".

In the footage, Weinstein invites Thompson to join him at the Tribeca Grand Hotel lobby restaurant. Thompson told Sky News Wednesday that she thought the two were going to meet and close the deal on the startup pitch.

"If he would make a comment, I would try to catch it and return it in a way that felt a little safer than the way he threw it at me". In it the video, the professional meeting takes on an air of predation nearly immediately, as Weinstein touches Thompson inappropriately and asks her inappropriate questions. "He cornered me, over and over again".

"Had people been more vocal and not said, "Yeah, that's Harvey, ' or 'Yeah we have to live with that" - we don't have to live with things that are illegal and abusive". "Brafman says, ". the video, when viewed in its entirety, in context and not in select excerpts, demonstrates that there is nothing forceful, but casual - if not awkward - flirting from both parties".

Claiming that the video tried to malign Weinstein for financial gain, Barfman said facts mattered.
