Nigeria finance minister resigns amid certificate fraud

Nigeria's finance minister resigns over forged document

"As someone totally committed to a culture of probity and accountability I have made a decision to resign with effect from Friday, 14th September 2018", Adeosun said in her resignation sent to President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday.

It is, however, not clear when Adeosun submitted her resignation letter.

LEADERSHIP recalls that resignation followed the allegation of not serving the compulsory National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, and obtaining a certificate that has not been authenticated by the body.

"The PDP is also aware of plots by the Federal Government to secretly move her out of the country, and for that, we urge the global community to be at alert and ensure she is repatriated to face justice in Nigeria should the Federal Government succeeds in its devious plan". And 13 years after, she has been announced acting finance minister in September 2018.

Browns to release troubled receiver Josh Gordon
Gordon returned to the team days prior to the preseason finale after spending almost a month tending to those personal matters. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the Browns are "far more likely" to trade Gordon rather than release him.

In 2010, she was appointed to serve as the executive secretary of the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative. Adeosun did not comment on the claims initially, prompting criticism from her opponents. During her ministerial screening, Bashir had tweeted, "Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed is very intelligent, I like all the answers she has given so far".

"The party invites Nigerians to note that President Muhammadu Buhari, whose administration has become notorious for shielding its many fraudulent and corrupt officials, could not summon the rectitude to sack Mrs. Adeosun, adding that she would have still been in office, if not for the sustained uproar by Nigerians and global creditors".

"Your Excellency, kindly permit me to outline some of the background to this matter". I obtained my first Nigerian passport at the age of thirty-four (34) and when I relocated there was debate as to whether NYSC Law applied to me. Until recent events, that remained my understanding. Having never worked in NYSC, visited the premises, been privy to nor familiar with their operations, I had no reason to suspect that the certificate was anything but genuine.
