He also criticised Jacob Rees-Mogg for pledging financial security in Britain after Brexit at the same time as opening an investment fund in Ireland to transfer his money over. On Tuesday, he went so far as to outline his vision on housing, reducing crime and cutting taxes, taking jabs at some of Ms.
It clearly mocked May, who once said the naughtiest thing she had done was run through a field of wheat.
It's not clear if Mr. Johnson's antics have captivated the party membership enough for him to win a leadership showdown with Ms. May.
And he urged Tory delegates to persuade the Prime Minister to "chuck Chequers" and return to the hard Brexit blueprint she first set out in her Lancaster House speech, when she said she would take the United Kingdom out of the customs union, single market and jurisdiction of the European Court of Justice. May's plan would keep the country too tied to the EU.
Her broadside came ahead of her conference address on Wednesday at which Mrs May, who is facing heavy criticism from within the party for her Chequers plan for Brexit, will attempt to stamp her authority over her fractious and divided party.
When May was reminded of this, she said: "As a United Kingdom government we remain committed to doing everything we can to ensure no hard border between Northern Ireland and Ireland". He too hates Ms.
Barely a month has gone by when there is not speculation of a plot against her, much of it focused around Johnson, a leading Brexit campaigner and former mayor of London.
Mr. Johnson's allies have been quick to argue that he isn't trying to push out Ms.

Dairy farmers slam new trade deal
That keeps disputes out of USA courts, where Canadian officials felt Canadian firms would be at a disadvantage. Farmers in the United States would also gain greater access to Canada's dairy market through the deal.
But May has surprised many onlookers by surviving this far, and many delegates here - whatever their feelings on Brexit - are wary of a change at the top now. "That's what we've all been saying throughout this conference", Steve Baker, who recently resigned from Ms.
But with rumours circulating in Birmingham that the Prime Minister has a tickly cough, she will be hoping there is no repeat of the mishaps she suffered during her conference speech past year.
The pressure is now on Ms.
Johnson did little to douse suspicions of an eventual leadership challenge, using his characteristic swagger and wit to pick apart May's proposal - while not actually spelling out what Britain should do instead.
"We have a guarantee for the people of Northern Ireland and we are upholding that".
Ms. May has held back on criticizing Mr. Johnson, but on Tuesday, she said his speech had made her "cross".
"We Conservatives know that it is only a strong private sector economy that can pay for superb public services and that is the central symmetry of our one nation Toryism". It was two years ago that we published a detailed plan setting out the least worst option if we have to leave the European Union - continued membership of the Customs Union and Single Market. "It is the only plan on the table at the moment that does".
When asked before the fringe event how she had been getting on with Mr Johnson, the prime minister laughed and told BBC One's Breakfast: "Well, I'm sure that's going to be a very lively event".
