The SpaceX mission, masterminded by billionaire Elon Musk, marks the 62nd flight of the Falcon 9, a rocket created to land back on Earth so it can be used again. The rocket's previously flown first stage then flipped around and returned to the Vandenberg Air Force Base launch site, chalking up SpaceX's first West Coast landing.
Landing and refurbishing first-stage boosters are key to SpaceX's plans to decrease launch costs. The satellite was deployed about 12 minutes after liftoff.
"Vandenberg, LZ-4, the Falcon has landed", a member of SpaceX's launch team reported.

In California launched a rocket Falcon 9SpaceX with the Argentine satellite SAOCOM-1A. The boosters burnt for two minutes and 20 seconds when it reached a much lighter atmosphere and that's when the boosters jettisoned from the rocket.
The SAOCOM 1A carries a high-resolution instrument called a synthetic aperture radar, which will be used to try to monitor and predict the severity of natural disasters.
