Samsung launches A9 smartphone with four cameras for the 'Instagram generation'
Well, the Chinese OEM were a tad slow and have been beaten to the punch by Samsung, with the South Korean giants officially launching the Galaxy A9 (2018) today-four rear cameras in tow.
This is all an update from the company's last release, the A7, which feature a triple 12 megapixel camera With Wide angle lens to take landscape pictures and Finger print scanner on the side.
What's interesting about the Galaxy A9 is that it has plenty of decent features. This gradient design will be offered in Bubble Pink, Lemonade Blue and Caviar Black colours when it goes on sale.
On the subject of availability, Samsung says that the Galaxy A9 2018 will be available at all Samsung Galaxy Experience stores and authorised resellers in November, but fell short of providing a specific date, or even a launchprice. But with so many other brilliant phones available for less than £500, these four cameras will have to really impress to make the A9 stand out. The face of the device has one camera.
The Galaxy A9 has a large 3800 mAh battery, which is bigger than those aforementioned flagships, so we should be looking at a phone with an impressive battery life. The glass rear of the phone houses four cameras that are aligned vertically.
Finally there's a 10MP telephoto lens providing a 2x optical zoom over the primary camera, allowing you to get closer to the action.
The Galaxy A9 (2018) starts at 599 euros in Europe and 549 pounds in the U.K. One model features 6GB of RAM, while another features 8GB of RAM.
Now for those in the states, we have some good news and some bad news.
All in all, the camera hardware on the A9 (2018) is impressive. It includes a USB Type-C port at the bottom center edge along with a 3.5mm audio jack and down-firing speaker grill.
Samsung is yet to roll out Android 9.0 Pie update to its flagship Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus smartphones and rumours suggest that Samsung would also add AI-features exclusive to the Galaxy Note 9 along with the Android Pie upgrade.
