McLaren Speedtail - 250mph ‘hyper-GT’ revealed

McLaren Speedtail Pumps 1035HP And 250MPH Top End As Rightful Heir To Legendary McLaren F1
The British sports vehicle company McLaren has revealed a new 1,035 horsepower three-seat hybrid supercar with a price tag of $2.25 million, or £1.75 million. It has just been unveiled as McLaren's fastest ever road vehicle, surpassing the legendary McLaren F1 as the new top speed king. The three-seater McLarenhypercar has been eagerly anticipated for years. But customers don't seem to be bothered by the price tag, as all 106 McLaren Speedtails have been reserved.
The McLaren Speedtail features the 1+2 seating layout seen on the earlier F1 supercar.
It's also the latest move by the Woking, England-based company to enhance its stature in the luxury and lifestyle market.
Technically speaking, the new hypercar doesn't meet USA regulations to be road legal.
The Speedtail is built around a bespoke "monocage" carbon-fibre structure and features an all-carbon-fibre body, aluminium active suspension and carbon-ceramic brakes. Powered by a hybrid powertrain of electric and petrol engines, the auto can produce 1,050 horsepower and accelerate to a top speed of 250 miles per hour in high-speed mode, with a 0-186 miles per hour time of only 12.8 seconds. That's nearly 4 seconds quicker than a P1 (16.5 seconds). Constructed completely out of carbon fiber from the company's newest factory in Sheffield, the high-profile exotic weighs only 3,153 pounds.
The driver-focused cockpit gets a large center-mounted screen flanked by two equally big touchscreens, while further away we see two more LCD panels that will display images from the cameras that replace the conventional mirrors. The front splitter, diffuser, and side skirts are all finished in a special "titanium deposition" carbon fiber that is lighter and stronger than that of previous cars. In total, the McLarenSpeedtail measures a staggering 5.137 metres nose to tail, the Chiron for example is significantly shorter at 4.54 metres. For many owners buying the Speedtail as an investment, as sad as that might be for the auto, 2,500-miles a year will be plenty.
Created to be luxurious as well as dynamically extreme, the McLaren flagship also has some nifty cabin features, like a camera system that replaces the door mirrors and electrochromic glass that darkens top of the windscreen to effectively make sun visors redundant. Its carbon fiber body is narrower but longer than P1, measuring nearly 17 feet. They can be made as a regular sticker, and aluminum, platinum or even 18-carat white gold with carbon elements. For those anxious about the additional weight of a golden or platinum badge, a special, lacquered-on golden badge is available, too.
Clocks in Greece turn back an hour on Sunday
When 2am arrives on Sunday, the clocks will roll back one hour to give you an extra 60 minutes with your head on your pillow. He campaigned for years, arguing turning the clocks back would save on costs and giving people longer time to enjoy outside.
