The best OnePlus 6T pre-order deals
OnePlus is not a household name, but tech enthusiasts know it as a solid smartphone alternative to big name phones from Samsung and even Apple.
I was in New York City for the launch of the company's most ambitious model yet: the OnePlus 6T.
Coming to the specifications of the smartphone, the OnePlus 6T comes with a 6.41-inch Optic AMOLED display at a 19.5:9 aspect ratio.
After a debut update on OnePlus 6T, the Chinese manufacturer is rolling out OxygenOS 9.0.2 update on OnePlus 6. The new OnePlus 6T is also the first from OnePlus to work on Verizon.
Taller screen has been made possible with minor tweaks in the design language of the phone, which also packs a marginally smaller chin than what the OnePlus 6 had.
Things escalate fairly quickly soon after, with Pocophone next comparing what is arguably a point of contention for OnePlus users - namely the removal of the headphone jack. In the United States, a 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage version sets you back $549.
According to the information released, T-Mobile versions of the phone will be carrier and bootloader locked as expected, but a mechanism for their unlocking is described.
This will be the first time that OnePlus will bring this colour to any of its smartphones.
The unlocked phone is only available from OnePlus' website, but this is clearly the "better" version of the phone.
The OnePlus 6T runs on the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, with 6GB and 8GB RAM variants with 128GB and 256GB internal storage variants.
OnePlus has previously hinted that it'll add wirelsss charging to its phones in the future, but the company's implementation of the feature isn't ready for the public quite yet. This means a set of features are not yet available on the T-Mobile variant. That's topped off by the sharing of a gif which simply shows the prices of the two devices being entered into a minimalist representation of a calculator, roughly $512 for the OnePlus 6T and $283 for the Poco F1.
Even with that long list of deficiencies, the T-Mobile version will be the best choice for a lot of people. The mobile carrier is offering $300 off the OnePlus 6T with a qualifying trade-in.
