You can find out more details about the new 8th generation Porsche 911 over at Porsche at the link below.
According to the German auto maker, the test mules of the 992 911 has been put through shuttling climates with temperature differences of up to 85 degrees Celsius. Porsche took the new 911 to the Gulf States, Middle East, and Death Valley to test air conditioning, thermal management, and combustion behavior in those areas. Porsche is also testing the new model around various race tracks, including the Nurburgring, as well as in dense traffic conditions. Next, the human-machine interface (HMI) undergoes function and stress tests, including the driver assistance and Porsche Connect systems.
In hot countries such as the Gulf States in the Middle East or Death Valley in the US, the air conditioning, thermal management, and combustion behaviour need to pass functional tests in temperatures up to 50 degrees Celsius - so the interior components must not expand or contract and make noises when exposed to heat, for example.
On sale in 2019, the 2020 Porsche 911 is essentially all new.
Cold area testing, such as in Finland, focused on cold starts, heating and air conditioning, traction, handling, and braking. Endurance runs saw the new 911 test cars on China's roads for typical traffic situations where different fuel quality was also used.

Iran draws sting from oil prices
Trump's administration must understand that its anti-Iran policies won't bear fruit and therefore have to be changed", Zarif said. USA sanctions could end up squeezing Iranian output so much that other producers won't need to cut.
The eighth generation of the Porsche 911 will be coming to the European market early next year, but not before the prototype completes its final tests across the world.
They are also being put to the test across huge elevation changes, spanning as low as 90 metres below sea level in Death Valley, USA, and up to 4.3km above sea level on Mount Evans in Colorado.
In total, the prototype models have been driven around three million kilometres (1.86 million miles).
A less spectacular component of testing, albeit no less important, is customer-oriented everyday driving on public roads through cities and across the countryside to ensure that the vehicle and all systems are durable for daily use.
