On Nov. 5, 2018, a U.S. EP-3 Aries aircraft flying in global airspace over the Black Sea was intercepted by a Russian SU-27.

The Russian SU-27 then came back and made a second pass near the United States plane and applied its afterburner while conducting a banking maneuver, which impacts the plane and is believed to have caused a deep vibration that was experienced by the American crew.

After the first flight of Russian su-27 in front of the American reconnaissance aircraft EP-3 Aries a crew of USA felt the turbulence, after the second vibration noted in the U.S. Navy in Europe and Africa.

American officials were not initially able to determine if the Russian aircraft was armed or not.

"The U.S. aircraft was operating in accordance with worldwide law and did not provoke this Russian activity", said the statement. Near the city of Sevastopol, seat of the Russian fleet of the Black Sea, the aircraft approached 35 kilometers to the coast.
