The screens on affected phones may not respond correctly to touch or it could react even without being touched, the Cupertino, California-based company said. You can either make an appointment with a service provider or your local Apple Store, or you can contact Apple Support to find out about mailing in your phone for service.
Apple says that eligible models of the iPhone X will have the display module changed free of charge through Apple, or an Apple Authorized Service Provider. Apple says that this behavior has been seen on the Apple iPhone X only.
Regarding the iPhone X - which was discontinued in September - Apple states that it has uncovered that some screens "experience touch issues due to a component that might fail on the display module". Apple says it will examine any iPhone to make sure its eligible for the free fix. Apple also reassured everyone that these issues are only present on some iPhone X models, and the Xs, Xs Max, and Xr are not affected. If you fixed it yourself - perhaps using the excellent guides over at iFixit - then you're not entitled to a refund, but you do get to bask in the glory of carrying out the fix yourself.
