Apple iPhone XI might have the ugliest triple camera solution so far
07 January 2019, 06:12 | Austin Hogan
A set of renders allegedly showing what this rumoured "iPhone XI" will look like were obtained by tech site Digit.
Forward-looking: 2019 might have just been thrust upon us, but it's never too early to start seeing new iPhone leaks. The flash, cameras and mic are placed in a staggered design, which looks outright disgusting (I say this now, but if it's true, I'm buying one without question #isheepgamestrong). However, the fact that the next iPhone will come with a triple camera setup on the back will not be changing, until and unless something drastic happens. There are two cameras aligned vertically like the iPhone XS, but there will also be a third camera placed between the two, on the side.
The three-camera setup certainly sounds impressive, but it's quite likely to push up the cost of production, and therefore inflate the iPhone brand's price tag even further.
US confirms death of militant involved in USS Cole bombing
The attack killed 17 sailors, wounded more than three dozen others and blasted a gaping hole in the destroyer's hull. US Central Command, which oversees military operations in the Middle East, confirmed Badawi's death in a statement.
What's unclear is exactly what extra features we'll get from having an extra camera grafted onto the back of the phone. While the square lockup might remind you of Huawei's recent Mate 20 Pro, the arrangement of lenses and the position of the square are different. The placement of the three cameras is also something to look out for. The flash LED and a microphone hole sandwich the third vertex of the triangle. OnLeaks states that the renders are based on EVT (engineering validation test), which means the device design isn't final as of yet.
However, we're still at least nine months away from Apple's annual iPhone reveal, so take these images with a pinch of salt. There's no revelation of the front panel of the iPhone XI but we expect Apple to shift from the traditional wide notch to a waterdrop notch, maybe?
