AMD Unveils Radeon VII, Says it Outperforms Nvidia 2080 RTX

AMD Launches Next Radeon VII GPU, the World's First 7nm GPU

AMD Radeon VII front

Just in case you'd forgotten what AMD's Dr Lisa Su was talking about for a second...

While Monday was the Intel keynote at CES 2019, this morning AMD took the spotlight with Lisa Su's keynote in Las Vegas.

The red team did not reveal when the GPU will be available or how much it will cost.

The Radeon VII will serve as a more direct competitor to Nvidia's RTX 2080 model and will retail for the same price of $699.

Exceptional capabilities: The Radeon VII graphics card is built upon 7nm process technology, delivering higher gaming performance than the AMD Radeon RX Vega 64 graphics card. At $699, AMD's high-end GPU will also be more expensive than the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080, which is now available at $349.

The demo also is indicative that Ryzen 3000 is not yet launched and AMD also did not share anything on model numbers meaning that short term you can not expect the new procs, but it will be the "middle of" this year for sure.

10-man Real Madrid loses 2-0 to Sociedad
Of the 15 matches that Solari has overseen in charge, he's handed two starts to Isco; neither of them coming in the league. The decision was "scandalous", Ramos said later. "We players go onto the pitch and we must be better and more focused".

Equipped with 60 compute units/3840 stream processors running at up to 1.8GHz and 16GB of ultra-fast HBM2 memory (second-generation High-Bandwidth Memory), the Radeon VII graphics card enables high-performance gaming and ultra-high quality visuals.

Already divulged to some extent at the Next Horizon technology event in November 2018, Dr. Su used the considerable platform of CES to reaffirm that third-generation Ryzen chips are on track for a mid-2019 release.

- 3rd Gen Ryzen (Zen 2) desktop CPUs were previewed. Using the Zen 2 architecture that employs a new chiplet design which separates I/O from cores - you see the two sets of cores in the picture, below - enthusiasts can expect a double-digit increase in IPC as well as extra speed from the 7nm cores.

On stage, AMD benchmarked its secretive processor with Cinebench and it achieved a score of 2023 - by our own benchmarks the Intel Core i9-9900K and AMD Ryzen 7 2700X scored 1,873 and 1,798 points, respectively. The benchmark shows this mystery chip scoring 2023 points, which is nearly identical to the Core i9 9900K. Same performance, better power, and more features, including PCIe 4.0. Damn, this AMD Radeon VII is just layers upon layers of clever.

2019 is shaping up to be another very interesting year for AMD.
