During the rare lunar eclipse, the Moon will appear red or reddish brown.
These events bring out internet excitement: the British Daily Mail tabloid consulted an astrologer about one full moon past year and is already breathlessly calling this event a "Super Blood Wolf Moon".

(Web Desk) - A first partial solar eclipse of the new year will be observed today (Sunday) as the moon passes between Earth and the sun, however, its visibility depends on your location. There are usually two eclipses in a row. "Dust in the atmosphere blocks out the higher frequency blue light waves, but the longer wavelength of red light comes through".
According to Space.com, this year's super blood wolf moon will be at full coverage around 11:41 p.m. ET on January 20th, peaking at around 12:16 a.m. Jan 21st.
This eclipse is first of six to occur this year.
It will be followed by a full solar eclipse on July 2, which India again would not be able to see.

It happens when a New Moon is positioned furthest from the Earth on its elliptical orbit, so appears slightly smaller in the sky and can not fully eclipse the Sun.
However, even some eclipse-chasers give such "minor" eclipses a miss.
"In rating the sheer beauty and grandeur of solar eclipses, a partial is a three, an annular is a seven, and a total is a 1,000,000!"
Total lunar eclipse ends: 10:43 p.m. (January 20).
